I am still learning how to walk The talk has been a big part of me Getting all your adrenaline rushing Only to call in and find me Barely started with my race As I make baby steps A talk starts to walk about What is he up to these days? My limbs threaten to quit But my subconscious sleeps on it This walk is getting better Better and better every other day I only hope I don't wander I am also learning to be much calmer Everytime that I feel closer I feel a deep love For my brothers Everytime I see them having my back These men from other mothers They've been pillars in my deepest agonies At least I am breathing Always up and kicking Reaching out for the best And having it together with the rest A lesson many young men haven't Lord am grateful My glass is half full but my heart is full I often shrink but you always magnify me My chest is warm amidst these hustle horrors But I equally grin within, I'm freaking elated Jabbar, Nov 2023
